1. 2-Methylimidazole can be used as the curing agent for epoxy resin and auxiliary agent for textile dyes.
2. 2-Methylimidazole can be used in additive of foamed plastics.
3. 2-Methylimidazole can be used as the pharmaceutical intermediate, for synthesis of metronidazole.
